Hi Friends,
Some of you know that I’ve spent the past few years leading the Aspen Institute’s Religion & Society Program. It’s a special place and a great program, and I feel honored to have served in this role.
I made the difficult decision recently to accept a new opportunity, which is equally special and meaningful, and about which I’ll be able to tell you more soon. For now, I wanted to share with you all the announcement of my move. You’ll see that I have the fortune of not having to say goodbye, as I’ll continue to have a role with the Aspen Institute going forward :)
Thanks for your support through this next step in my journey!
Much love,
Simran
Dear All,
I’m writing with news that’s more sweet than bitter. After two-plus years at the helm of the Religion & Society Program at the Aspen Institute, I will be moving to the next stage of my journey beginning July 1. We aim to have a new leader in place well before I transition out, and my powerhouse colleague Rev. Dr. Audrey Price will continue to keep our ship stable throughout this process.
The reason that this move feels sweet is because I don’t have to say goodbye to the Aspen Institute or to the Religion & Society Program. I will begin my new role in July, after which I will stay on with our program in an advisory capacity.
I’m proud of the work we’ve done over the past few years, and I’m helping to ensure that the Institute finds a leader for the role who will build on our work and carry our vision forward. The job posting will be live in the next week or so, and I’d love for you to share it with any friends and colleagues who you think would be good for the role.
The Aspen Institute is such a special place, and I have truly loved everyone I’ve met there. People are brilliant and humble and generous and so kind. I’m so thankful for this experience, and grateful that I will continue to work with the organization going forward.
I’ll be able to share more about my new role soon enough. For now, I’ll simply state that I will continue to do the work I’ve loved doing at the Aspen Institute: writing, teaching, and facilitating conversations on some of the most pressing issues of our time.
Sincerely yours,
Simran
