The small stuff always matters. The extra time teachers take with students, the little bags of useful things.. Once about a year before Covid, there was a homeless woman who routinely stood on a bridge in Brattleboro. One day my granddaughter about age 8 told me she wanted to draw a picture for the woman. I told her I would deliver it.. and the next day I stopped, and give the drawing to the woman and told her it was my granddaughter's idea but then I added some money ..a nd the woman said, "And it's my birthday today!" she just smiled so much!
Love this, the reminder is every small act accounts for something larger in the big picture. We can make a difference by acting, no matter how small or large the deed.
I once attended in Austin a birthday celebration for a deceased musician Blaze Foley. the story was told that he kept a bag of fresh fruit in his car and when he passed a homeless person he offered them the apple or orange. I've always loved that story.
What Suzanne is doing with her kids matters a lot. I love this! Mother Teresa said, “Do small things with great joy.” Our church has an outreach called “Reach for Joy.” We put large bags together 4-6 times a year for people in need. The church is then commissioned to help deliver thousands of bags to families and individuals. They are prepped for Christmas meals, Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Veterans, We pray for God to lead us by his Holy Spirit to the people in need. It is a huge undertaking, and totally worth it. We are to be servants of the Lord, and the hands and feet of Jesus. We are so blessed in our nation. There is no reason for anyone to be hungry, or feel unloved. ❤️😊
